Carol’s Grammar Plates

I’m not a perfect grammarian but I do have most of the basics down. And so should anyone who calls him- or her–self a writer, or you lose credibility. For this complete blog post (where the plate photos are clearer), please go to Carol Cassara’s blog post, Grammar Served On A Plate.

I think that being so concerned with proper grammer or spelling mistakes is udder nonsense. Who cares if its I or me, or lay, or lie, as long as we all get laid in the end. Their is no way that: spelling, grammer, or excess punctuation, can distract from a well written peace!!!!! But thats just one grils opinion.

Omigosh, Kathy. Hilarious! Thanks for the chuckle! Very clever.

These are some of the things that drive me nuts. They never used to bother me before I was a writer, but now they are glaring:
1 the incorrect usage of to, too, and two.
2 saying ‘pacific’ when ‘specific’ should be used.
3 not using ‘ly’ when it is necessary (there’s an epidemic of this in the media).
4 using ‘ecsetera’ for ‘etcetera'(that’s like having a listhp(lisp)) LOL
Thanks for letting me rant (heaven knows, there is a plethera of others I could list). My decision to become a writer has ruined me for blithely reading the novels I like.

Oh, there are lots of things that annoy me! One is the incorrect use of “myself.” And I just must get me some of those plates!

Hi Carol, I know exactly what you mean. There are many books I struggle to read. . . to get past the errors! Sighing . . . Marlene

Hi Arlene, I thought of you when posting Carol’s comments. Would you like to be a guest blogger? 300-600 words, something encouraging or inspiring for writers. Marlene
