I\u2019ll get on an elevator and say \u201cgood morning,\u201d and that person won\u2019t say anything in return. My sister Yvonne\u2014she\u2019s different from me. When people are rude or unfriendly, Yvonne\u2019ll tell them, \u201cI didn\u2019t do anything to you! Whatever is on your mind, don\u2019t take it out on me.\u201d But I\u2019m wired differently. I keep a smile on my face, and I say to myself, \u201cAlright. I\u2019ll say a little prayer for you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And I\u2019ll say a prayer that whatever they\u2019re struggling with, they\u2019ll get through. That whatever is heavy, whatever is burdening them, they\u2019ll find a way to lighten that load. That they\u2019ll realize, even in the middle of great struggle, there are things to be thankful for.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is especially true in hard times like these. When things are difficult, when troubles seem overwhelming, it\u2019s helpful to look back and consider all you\u2019ve gotten through and how far you\u2019ve come. It\u2019s important to remember your blessings, starting with the fact that you woke up this morning. The sun rose again, and you did too\u2014and here you are, breathing, above the concrete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And just acknowledging that simple fact as a blessing\u2014that can make you feel better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Writing Prompt:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Write about your blessings.
