Tedeschi and teacher Henry Taylor, who went on to win the Pulitzer Prize in poetry for The Flying Change\u00a0in 1986.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In its half-century of existence, Roanoke Review has established itself as an accessible read, intent on publishing down-to-earth writers with a sense of place, a sense of language, and\u2014perhaps most importantly\u2014a sense of humor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Review is also known for its fine cover art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Roanoke Review accepts poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction, photographic essay, and visual poetry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.roanokereview.org\/submit\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"http:\/\/www.roanokereview.org\/submit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Submissions\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>September 1 through December 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fiction and non-fiction submissions up to 5,000 words and poetry submissions up to 100 lines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Roanoke Review is part of the creative writing community at Roanoke College\u00a0in Virginia.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Roanoke Review was co-founded in 1967 by Roanoke College student Edward A.
