Zimmerman, an example of exceptional, extraordinary writing, an unforgettable story told in an illuminating format.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cagibi<\/strong>,&nbsp;<em>qu\u2019est ce que c\u2019est?<\/em>&nbsp;What is a&nbsp;<em>cagibi<\/em>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>American phonetic transcription: \/k\u00e4\u2019j\u0113b\u0113\/<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A cagibi,&nbsp;from the spoken French, is versatile in its purpose: it may be a shed, a cubbyhole, a cupboard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is a space to store tools or personal items for safekeeping: shovels, love&nbsp;letters, suitcases, pails, heirlooms, tchotchkes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is a space too low for grown-ups but perfect for children to hide and play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is that snug space under the stairs just large enough to fit a small writing desk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is a space that isn\u2019t quite a room, usually windowless, but also door-less, a space that is at once intimate and yet open to the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is any shelter, no matter how tiny, that allows for big imaginings to take shape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CAGIBI&nbsp;is invested in sharing the universal human experiences to be found in works of prose and poetry set within places unfamiliar to readers; thus, our&nbsp;expressed interest in international\u2014or world\u2014literature, and works in translation.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Journal in Print and Online<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>CAGIBI<\/strong>\u2019s journal&nbsp;is bundled online in quarterly issues, with one print issue each year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cagibi publishes an annual print issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Online<\/strong>, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cagibilit.com\/issues\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">quarterly online issues<\/a>\u00a0are published\u00a0in January, April, July, and October.
