A Letter of Forgiveness to Myself<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dearest<\/p>\n\n\n\n

pale, broken, and lonely<\/p>\n\n\n\n

sit up<\/p>\n\n\n\n

stretch out your arms<\/p>\n\n\n\n

take a deep cleansing breath<\/p> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You don’t have to hold<\/p>\n\n\n\n

yourself apart<\/p>\n\n\n\n

from others anymore<\/p> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cradle your intention<\/p>\n\n\n\n

slowly rock away the fears<\/p>\n\n\n\n

long to see the light<\/p>\n\n\n\n

listen to the raindrops<\/p>\n\n\n\n

splash away the tears<\/p> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Forgive yourself<\/p>\n\n\n\n

be a better purveyor<\/p>\n\n\n\n

of your own destiny<\/p> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ever changing and growing with age<\/p>\n\n\n\n

intentionally litter your psyche<\/p>\n\n\n\n

with sprinkles and<\/p>\n\n\n\n

multi-colored streamers<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dance<\/p> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Make light in the dark<\/p>\n\n\n\n

hold yourself<\/p>\n\n\n\n

in the palm of love<\/p> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your humbled heart<\/p>\n\n\n\n

is right here…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

in the best place<\/p>\n\n\n\n

at the right time<\/p>\n\n\n\n

in our mutual care<\/p> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Live joy no matter what<\/p>\n\n\n\n

reminisce in laughter<\/p>\n\n\n\n

forgive again<\/p> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You are renewed, refreshed, and emboldened<\/p>\n\n\n\n

have trust and solace in your self pride <\/p>\n\n\n\n

rest easily<\/p>\n\n\n\n

cast away all doubt<\/p>\n\n\n\n

throw kisses to the wind…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Caryl Sherman:<\/strong> In the words of the very famous, and beloved cartoon character, Popeye the Sailor Man, “I y’am who I y’am and that’s who I y’am”<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am the artist, and musician, formerly known as Leigh Anne Caryl. I thought using a pen name would give me the veil of protection and credibility I needed to write authentically; but that turned out NOT to be true. In fact, it was quite the opposite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
