Hear the writer\u2019s voice on the page.<\/em><\/a><em><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A Simple Building<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>By Cheryl Moore<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A simple building lacking in flare<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Why am I so often drawn there?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Roaming its shelves, tasting its wares<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A whole wide world available there<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Journeys take me around the world<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And when I no longer want to roam<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Work on gardens, on business<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On cooking and art<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And English lit and Shakespeare<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To keep me smart<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not to mention poetry<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To suit the fussiest muse<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So much to read, no time to lose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cheryl Moore<\/strong> grew up in the mid-west, went to college in San Francisco, then lived in foreign lands before returning and eventually settling in Sonoma County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In recent years, she lives in a house and garden where deer nibble on roses, &nbsp;raccoons dine on fallen figs, and her bird feeders are busy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A nearby river offers opportunities to observe waterfowl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seeing and writing about these miracles of nature are adventures in living.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Memorable writing that sparks imagination.
