According to Phil Romo,\u00a0a \u201creal boy\u201d is a metaphor for being an autonomous individual, not bound to ideologies or to existing institutions. \u201cTo think for yourself . . . Don\u2019t be bound to the strings you are born into.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The Blue Fairy grants life to Geppetto&#8217;s puppet.
