Writing<\/strong> Prompt<\/strong>: Use a situation from real life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Or:<\/strong> Make up something that could have happened with either a real person or a fictional character.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prepare to write:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Get into the head of the character, real or fictional, that you want to write about. This could be a younger version of yourself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

See that character.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notice their skin. Is it youthful? Smooth? Wrinkly? Sagging?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notice their hair: Color, style, neat, messy<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Look into their eyes, notice the main color, the subtle colors. Do their eyes look tired? Energetic? Hopeful? Hopeless?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How do they sound? Clear voice? Raspy? Slow talker? Fast talker?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What type of personality are they?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Usually happy?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cheerful?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grumpy?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Modest?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Full of themselves?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How does that person walk?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How do they move?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Become that person, that character. It could be a younger you.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Walk around as if you are the person you are going to write about. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pantomime an action, or activity, the character might do.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fully embody that person<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Walk around for about 3 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As you walk, imagine you are the character you have in mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Feel that character in your body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After walking, <\/strong>write about what you just experienced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then, write a conversation or an interaction from real life or imagination, with the character you just inhabited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Possible sentence starts:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You always . . .
I hate it when you . . .
I love when you . . .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why didn\u2019t you . . .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Remember when . . .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I thought . . . and then I learned . . .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In my mind, the trouble started when . . .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
