Excited to find <a href=\"http:\/\/brickmag.com\/about\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Brick<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Brick<\/em> has been called many things: an \u201canthology of enthusiasms\u201d (Michael Ondaatje), \u201cthe best literary publication in North America\u201d (Annie Proulx), and \u201cmore fun than any other literary magazine around\u201d (Robert Hass). <em>Brick<\/em> is where the world\u2019s best-loved writers have wide, lively, personal discussions about art, culture, and the written word.<\/p>\n<p><em>Brick<\/em> was founded in London, Ontario, in 1977 by Stan Dragland and Jean McKay. From 1985 until 2013, Michael Ondaatje led the magazine and helped to establish its international reputation, leaving a legacy of intellectual curiosity and passion for the written word.<\/p>\n<p><em>Brick<\/em>\u2019s mandate: to create a beautiful product filled with the most invigorating and challenging literary essays, interviews, memoirs, travelogues, belles lettres, and unusual musings we can get our hands on.<\/p>\n<p><em>Brick<\/em>\u00a0is published twice a year and distributed to <a href=\"http:\/\/brickmag.com\/where-to-buy-brick\" target=\"_blank\">bookstores worldwide<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/brickmag.com\/submissions\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Brick Submission Guidelines<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>Brick <\/em>accepts unsolicited manuscripts of non-fiction only: book reviews, personal essays, memoirs, interviews.<\/p>\n<p>Suggestion: Familiarize yourself with<em> Brick<\/em> and the kind of writing <em>Brick<\/em> publishes before submitting.<\/p>\n<p><em>Brick<\/em> does not set a word limit, it is suggested that submissions not exceed 5,000 words.<\/p>\n<p><em>Brick <\/em>accepts submissions both by mail and online through Submittable \u00a0For online submissions, a modest fee of $3.00 is charged to cover our costs.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"rteright\"><em>&#8220;Brick<\/em> is an unpredictable, original, yet reliable feast which I\u2019ve enjoyed year after year.
