And will we then go deep and become authentic in our writing?<\/p>\n<p>The temptation is to not go where it hurts. The temptation is to lie in order to resist the painful truth.<\/p>\n<p>I recently read <a title=\"Pack Up The Moon\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Pack-Up-Moon-Rachael-Herron\/dp\/0451468600\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Pack Up the Moon<\/em><\/a> by <a title=\"Rachael Herron\" href=\" http:\/\/www.yarnagogo.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Rachael Herron<\/a> and <a title=\"The Interestings\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/The-Interestings-Novel-Meg-Wolitzer\/dp\/1594488398\" target=\"_blank\"><em>The Interestings<\/em><\/a> by <a title=\"Meg Wolitzer\" href=\"http:\/\/www.megwolitzer.com\/bio.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Meg Wolitzer<\/a>. Both of these authors went deep in their writing and the resulting books are genuine, authentic and fabulous reads. . . where the characters and their problems deeply touched me.\u00a0 Rachael and Meg did not resist writing about painful truths.<\/p>\n<p>How about you? Can you recommend books that deeply touched you?\u00a0 What other authors go deep in their writing? I can think of Jodi Piccoult.
