    I read this prompt and wondered what I should write; I know when I admit to something I did that I regret I carry a load of guilt on my shoulders, until I get on my knees before the Lord. Then I grabbed my Bible and found once again that His Word is truly the living Word. I turned right to Psalm 32:1-5:

    “Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.
    Blessed is the man against whom the Lord counts no iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit.
    For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long.
    For day and night your hand was heavy upon me;
    My strength was dried up as by the heat of summer.
    I acknowledged my sin to you, and I did not cover my iniquity;
    I said, ‘I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,’
    and You forgave the iniquity of my sin.”

    That I can find forgiveness with simple humility before God, repentance and confession, is truly a miracle. Jesus also said regarding asking for forgiveness, in Matthew 5:23, “So if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar and go. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.” In other words I know I have to sometimes swallow my pride and make things right with someone I’ve wronged before even giving the Lord a gift. But what freedom there is in confession and asking forgiveness!

      Such strength in your words, “swallow my pride and make things right.”
