The first part of this workshop will be an exploration of memorable events through writing. The second part will be making a collage to explore creative expression.
No special writing experience or artistic talent needed.
Bring a notebook and pen. Material for collage will be provided.
You are welcome to bring magazines, printed poems, or any material you would like to use for collage.
There will be more Write & Collage Workshops, so if Sept 27 doesn’t work for you, more dates as soon as I book venues.

Flash Fiction Contest
The Redwood Writers Branch of the California Writers Club (CWC) invites authors to enter their “Guaranteed Happily Ever After” flash fiction contest; original stories of 500 words or less that promise readers: no matter how rocky the road, happiness waits at the end. All genres are welcome.
Submission period ends August 31.
Entry fee: $15.
CWC members may submit up to three stories; non-members may submit one.

Book Review: The Liar’s Playbook by Leslie Bradford-Scott
The Liar’s Playbook by Leslie Bradford-Scott is storytelling at its best. I simultaneously wanted to quickly read to the end and read slowly to savor.
The unusual format works: Prologue, Part I, Part II, and Part III.
The Prologue draws readers into a compelling story that immediately captures attention.
Part I, The Inheritance, unfolds like a mesmerizing novel.
Part II, The Investigation, reveals the story behind the story, bringing readers closer to understanding why Leslie Bradford-Scott ventured into an underworld that was both familiar and foreign to her.
Part III, The Reconciliation, explores Leslie’s reflections and conclusions about her own life and her father’s, offering insight, understanding, and a sense of resolution.
Photographs enrich the narrative, adding depth and authenticity.
Even the Acknowledgments are distinctive and enjoyable to read.
Leslie Bradford-Scott has crafted a captivating memoir with exceptional skill.
The Liar’s Playbook is not only an engrossing read but also an inspiring example of how to write memoir with honesty, structure, and grace.
This is a book I’ll keep on my shelf and read again. It’s that good.
